Yesterday, Mae went to her heart doctor appointment. We LOVE her doctor, but she was a little nervous about going to sleep for the procedure. I am sure that she is still worried as to whether or not mommy and daddy will be there when she wakes up when we are away from home. And not knowing exactly what happened during her 3 month hospital stay in Beijing for her first heart surgery, we are unaware of exactly what memories of that experience are flowing her cute little head. All in all, Mae was a trooper and they got beautiful pictures of her heart to know what they are working with. Mae has a DORV (Double outlet of the right ventricle) and a VSD (hole in her heart). The VSD is the little piece that has kept her alive for the past 4 years! Without that hole, her little heart would not have been able to keep up with her so we praise God that the VSD is present. We knew that Mae came to us with a very special heart, but we also rest in the knowledge that God is working on repairing it and He will continue to do so. The doctor was pleased with her echo, EKG, and the energy that this little princess has. He wants us to allow her to be her and help her continue to grow before he plans any kind of surgery. PRAISE GOD! She just gets to be Mae, our little princess, and not worry about surgery!!! And that could be for a year or so! Our God is so good! He would like for us to return in 3 months for a check-up, but he likes where she is headed and so are we.
So course our little princess amazed all of the nurses and staff yesterday as she paraded in with her tutu on (her choice!) and her adorable smile. They all couldn't get over how cute she was! But the tutu had to come off while she went to sleep for her echo and EKG. Here is my little trooper, tutu and shirt off, only in leggings and her jacket, reading a story before she has to take the yucky sleep medicine.
